Art, Race and Tragedy: Gericault's Raft of the Medusa This workshop will discuss the ideas presented in Suzanne's book, The Conspiracy of Silence: Theodore Gericaut's Raft of the Medusa and The Abolitionist Movement. We will then talk about other such tragedies and natural disasters, how the ideas of tragedy and race are represented in art and consider how art affects our outlook on the status quo.
